COURSE GOAL: To develop NRA Certified Instructors who possess the knowledge, skills, and attitude necessary to conduct the NRA Basic Personal Protection In The Home Course.

This course includes two (2) full days of training:

 

Day 1: NRA Basic Personal Protection In The Home (required pre-requisite student level course)

Day 2: NRA Basic Personal Protection In The Home Instructor Training

WHAT TO BRING:

-Your pistol

-100-150 rounds of appropriate ammunition for your pistol

-Minimum of two magazines/speedloaders

-Eye and ear protection

-Notepad, pens, highlighters

-1.5" binder for your class materials

-Lunch and any snacks and drinks you will need for both days

-OPTIONAL, but useful - Strong side outside the waistband holster, magazine pouches and kneepads

Instructor Candidates must be current NRA Certified Pistol Instructors, have attended Basic Instructor Training (BIT) within the last two (2) years.  If you are past the two-year mark and need to re-take BIT, a BIT class date is available on August 20, 2021 at the same location for an additional fee.

Instructor Candidates must attend and pass the NRA Basic Personal Personal Protection In The Home Course noted on the schedule above, and score a 90% or better on the written test, along with the shooting qualification. Prior to the Instructor Training, all candidates will complete a pre-course questionnaire and demonstrate their firearm proficiency in pre-course assessment exercises, including a shooting qualification. Upon successful completion of this Course, Instructor Candidates will be certified by the NRA to teach the NRA Basic Personal Protection In The Home Course.
